Djerdap Viewpoints

The hiking trail to Ploče is classified as a medium difficulty trail through the forest and is 3.5 km long. It leads to the limestone plateau under Veliki Štrbac, which offers a magnificent view of Djerdap Gorge.

Recently, a wooden platform was also installed for even better and safer enjoyment of the view of the Kazan whirlpools, from an almost bird’s eye view.

The Kovilovo hiking trail is considered one of the easier trails. It ends at a spacious viewpoint with a view of a wider part of Djerdap Gorge and Donji Milanovac. The viewpoint is located at an altitude of 358 m and is the habitat of the moonshine yarrow (Achillea clypeolata), an endemic species that grows in a very limited area.
